Fauji Adda’ to mentor national security aspirants at city college
Chandigarh: Postgraduate Govt College, in association with Gyan Setu Think Tank (GSTT), inaugurated a multipurpose ‘Information Centre-cum Hybrid Library’ at its Defence Studies Department in the presence of military veterans, academicians, faculty members and students.
Named Fauji Adda, it is a single-window facility for information, guidance, skilling and mentoring for aspirants for a career in national security.
MP Manish Tewari inaugurated the event and emphasised the importance of academic institutions and think tanks in contributing to informed policy discussions and nation building.
With an MPLAD grant of Rs 10 lakh, he hoped the initiative would deliver significant outputs that can be replicated across Tricity and other areas.
The aim is to replicate these “Addas” across the Tricity.
GSTT convenor Lt Gen (Dr) K J Singh (Retd) said the think tank aims to promote research, policy dialogue, skilling and intellectual engagement on issues of national security, defence technology, geo-economics and public policy analytics.
Principal, Prof Rama Arora, said it would provide students and researchers a platform to develop analytical thinking, engage in evidence-based research and participate in meaningful discussions on national and global challenges.
